








The Helix Wind Turbine:
The Helix Wind Turbine has been optimized to perform efficiently at average wind speeds of 8-10m/s, with a rated power output of 2kW and an efficiency of approximately 30 percent. The turbine’s cut-in wind speed is 3m/s, and it features a swept area of 3.14 m2. Its unique spiral drag-based design enables it to harness energy even at relatively low wind speeds, providing an advantage over conventional lift-based turbines
The Undi Micro-grid Project
Mpepu Energy is installing a 15kW hybrid micro-grid system in Undi Village, located in Ntchisi District, Malawi. The system will combine 6kW of wind generation from three Helix horizontal-axis Wind turbines and 9 kilowatts of solar photovoltaic generation to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity to the community. The project aims to supply electricity to 70 households, 10 local businesses, and one primary school within the first phase. By integrating renewable energy sources with battery storage, the project will ensure stable and uninterrupted power throughout the day and night.
